Today was the day. The super big, enormously important, meet-with-the-specialist-and-see-how-the-first-round-of-chemo-and-radiation-went day.
And I’m going to cut straight to the chase, and say it was an amazing day. The scans look so good. In fact, the doctor said there are no visible signs of the tumor on the scan. Hallelujah! Not very many people with glioblastoma EVER get a clean scan. Pops’s initial surgery went extremely well though (98%+ removed) so there hasn’t been a whole lot to get rid of.
The bad news is that there are invariably a couple of sneaky cells that can’t be seen on the scan (the toughest ones) and the tumor nearly-always comes back. We are nowhere near out of the woods, but today’s scan was better than we could have ever hoped for! <3
We’ve got an aggressive treatment plan that starts tomorrow, and all we gotta do is worry about a couple stupid cells. He has more energy every day, and today’s results seem to have boosted moral even more!
The sun is shining, we got exceptional news, and we even went out for a celebratory meal after the appointment. Social distancing is easy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. 😉
Yah! Bill’s exceptional attitude (with a lot of help) pays off again. 🙂
The smile you both have under the sun light can be seen through your masks. Love you Chandlercita. All my love and good energy going to you and your dad and family.
